With their combined years of experience and their frustration with label restrictions, they discussed the possibilities of a label where there would be no boundaries, where they could release what they wanted. A label that would not infringe on the artists freedom or vision, but on the contrary- would inspire it! Thus FETO Records was born! The first few releases on FETO were albums from the pairs many musical projects: Lock Up, Exploder, Mistress, Professor Fate etc, and of course there are more in the pipeline. One of FETO’s aims is to encourage musical collaborations as we believe this can inspire great and adventurous recordings. The name of the Label FETO derives itself from the title of the second Napalm Death album “From Enslavement to Obliteration”. When the album rocketed into the NME Indie album charts at No1 in 1988, it settled itself above bands such as Sonic Youth and Big Black. Such was the musical diversity of extremity at that time, it is a reminder to us all that rules are meant to be broken! Over the coming months as the label continues to grow and expand, you can expect releases from many genres of extreme music. Be it grindcore/ death metal/ heavy metal/ punk/ hardcore/ industrial or experimental, FETO aims to become a guiding light in the darkness of ignorance.. FETO Records Did people from Napalm Death and Anaal Nathrakh really set up the label; do they actually run it themselves? How can my band get on FETO Records? Do you really listen to all the demos you get sent? How can I get Anaal Nathrakh to play at my gig/venue? I want to bulk buy some of your CD’s for my distro/record shop, how do I go about this? I want to interview one of your bands for my magazine/zine/school assignment- is that OK? I heard you were putting out a Napalm Death vinyl, is this true? I have a question you haven’t answered here and a suggestion for the site, how can I let you know? |
